Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to shop with us, however they browse. We are working to bring handsomescent.com in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act in the United States, and by EN 301 549 under the European Accessibility Act.
What we are doing
We carried out a full accessibility review of our site in August 2026 and are actively working through what it found. Improvements already in progress include keyboard access to our video carousel, visible focus indicators throughout the site, a pause control for our scrolling announcement bar, clearer labelling of buttons and controls for screen readers, and support for reduced-motion settings.
Where we are not there yet
We are not yet fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We review our site regularly and fix what we find. Two things currently sit outside our direct control:
- A small number of elements provided by third-party tools on our site do not yet meet our colour contrast target.
- Some of our videos do not yet have captions. We are working through them.
Our checkout is provided and maintained by Shopify. We do not control that code, but we raise issues with them when we find them.
Tell us if something does not work
If you hit a barrier anywhere on our site, or you would like help placing an order another way, email us at info@handsomescent.com. Let us know the page you were on and what went wrong.
We aim to reply within 2 business days, and we will always find another way to get you what you need.
